The birth of Suomy is certainly a typically Italian and family story.

Having worked for a long time for Yamaha, Umberto Monti, founder of Suomy, decided to be involved in motorsport in a different way. The helmet is his passion and first he becomes a distributor for Europe of Bell helmets and then for the Japanese DIC helmets. However, his true passion is for a helmet Made in Italy.

He involves the two brothers, Valter, a motocross rider, and Maurizio, a nuclear engineer and the three together create Suomy, a completely Italian brand.

From the very beginning, with its fluorescent red ''dot '', Suomy became unmistakable and unique on the heads of the riders. A winning choice, aggressive and racy, combined with a passion for quality.

In a few years Suomy established itself all over the world as a quality motorsport helmet, but over time, the brand grew and is able to stretch out of the world of engines.

The next challenge is in cycling where the 3 brothers find themselves creating something new. Suomy DNA, made in Italy and great quality. But now, for the equestrian athlete, APEX is born, or "BORN TO BE # 1".
